Privacy Policy.
A plain-English account of what we collect from visitors and clients, why we collect it, and what we'll never do with it. We treat your data the way we treat your stone — with care, and only as much as is necessary to do the job well.
01 · IdentityWho we are.
M&T Surface Protectors LLC ("M&T," "we," "us") is a family-run, certified StoneGuard® installation company based in the New York / New Jersey / Pennsylvania tri-state. We sell and install protective film for natural stone surfaces in private residences. This policy covers mtsurfaceprotectors.com and any inquiries you send through it.
02 · DataWhat we collect.
We only collect what we need to give you a useful quote and schedule the work. Nothing more.
You give us directly — through the inquiry form, email, phone, or text:
- Your name — so we know who we're talking to.
- Email address — to send you the written protection plan and quote.
- Phone number — if you'd like us to call or text you back.
- Project address or zip code — to confirm we serve your area and estimate travel.
- Project details — stone type, finish, rooms, square footage, timeline, notes.
- Photos — if you choose to upload one of your countertop.
- Anything else you tell us in a message, email, or call.
Collected automatically — when you visit the site:
- Basic technical data — browser type, device type, screen size, approximate location (city level) from IP.
- Usage data — which pages you viewed, how long, where you came from. Used in aggregate, not tied to your identity.
03 · PurposeWhy we collect it.
- To respond to your inquiry. If you don't tell us your stone and where you live, we can't quote it.
- To schedule and complete the work — once you're a client.
- To keep records required by tax law, warranty registration, and proof of certified install.
- To improve the site — figuring out which pages are useful and which are confusing.
- To follow up on quotes a small number of times, in a way that's easy to opt out of.
We do not sell your data, ever, to anyone, for any reason. We don't run advertising campaigns that target you by name. We don't pass your inquiry to other vendors.
05 · SMSTexting & SMS.
If you provide your phone number and opt in to texts on the inquiry form, we may text you to confirm your inquiry, send your quote, schedule the install, or follow up. We do not send marketing blasts or promotional SMS campaigns.
Reply STOP to any text to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Read the full SMS Terms for details.
06 · CookiesCookies & analytics.
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. The only ones we set ourselves are essential — they remember your session and any tweaks you've made to the site. We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (no third-party cookies, no cross-site tracking) to understand traffic in aggregate.
We don't run advertising trackers, social-media pixels, or fingerprinting. If you use a browser extension to block cookies, nothing on this site will break.
07 · RetentionHow long we keep it.
- Inquiry data — until you ask us to delete it, or three years after our last contact, whichever comes first.
- Client records (after work is done) — kept for the duration of the lifetime warranty, plus seven years for tax purposes.
- Analytics data — kept in aggregate; individual sessions are not retained beyond 24 months.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see the next section.
08 · Your rightsWhat you can ask us to do.
You can ask us to:
- Show you what we have on file about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your information (with the exception of records we're legally required to keep, like completed-job invoices).
- Stop contacting you for follow-up or marketing — at any time, for any reason.
- Export your data in a readable format.
Email sales@mtsurfaceprotectors.com with the request and we'll handle it within 30 days, usually same week. We will never charge you for a privacy request and we will never make it complicated.
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and similar states have specific statutory rights (CCPA / CPRA, etc.) — we honor them globally, not just for residents of those states, because it's simpler and it's the right thing to do.
09 · ChildrenChildren.
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has submitted information, email us and we'll remove it.
10 · SecurityHow we keep it safe.
Inquiries are transmitted over HTTPS. Data sits in encrypted, access-controlled stores. The team at M&T who can see your inquiry is small and intentionally so — Michael and a few people who need to see it to do the work. We don't grant access to anyone outside operating the business.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever experience a breach that affects your data, we'll tell you promptly and clearly — what happened, what was affected, and what we're doing about it.
11 · ChangesChanges to this policy.
If we materially change how we handle data, we'll update this page, change the "Last updated" date, and — for substantive changes — notify recent inquirers by email before the change takes effect.
12 · Reach usQuestions, complaints, or requests.
The fastest way to reach us about anything privacy-related is email. We respond personally, not with a form letter.

Email is best for written requests so we have a record. For anything urgent, call or text.
